Last fall I bought an Amazon Kindle. I realized I spend hour daily in trams mostly just reading Twitter so I thought I could use this time to read the Steve Jobs bio that has just came out. But I really didn't want to have to carry the book so the obvious choice was Kindle. And after few months I've completely fallen in love with it and after a long period I am reading books again.
From time to time I encounter a book that I wish to read soon and in process of not forgetting about the book I've started a list of technical books I want to read in 2012 in form of Amazon Wishlist. You can look at it here:
If you look at the list you'll find some books that are considered classics in their field, for example The Mythical Man-Month by Fred Brooks or Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software by "Gang of Four". And most books in that list are not dealing specific technologies, because I believe that it is not technologies we use, but principles and processes we use that make difference.
If I'll have the energy I'll write small review for each book I finish. I hope the list will be an inspiration for someone and if you have any tips for similar books, please tweet me.
